Margaux Petit, Paris-based watercolour illustrator, in a portrait photo with an horse.

Hi, I am Margaux

Paris-based and still influenced by several years spent in London, my illustrations are inspired by architecture, atmosphere and the small details that give a place its identity.

Before moving into illustration, I trained and worked in hospitality, an experience that shaped my appreciation for spaces, ambience and thoughtful design.

Working across traditional and digital techniques, I create mixed-media pieces that combine watercolour and iPad painting, occasionally incorporating pastels and coloured pencils depending on the project.

My approach to watercolor and art was strongly influenced by training with Australian artist Kerrie Hess, whose sense of elegance and storytelling continues to inspire my practice.

A certificate of completion for a painting masterclass by Kerrie Hess, decorated with pink watercolor roses and a drawing of a woman in a pink dress, placed on a desk with a rose gold wax seal, a pink decorative wax seal stamp, pink roses, and a pink and rose gold paintbrush.
Stylized illustration of two women in pink ball gown dresses with floral patterns, holding hands, wearing high heels, with the background in light pink.

Whether through prints, bespoke commissions or creative collaborations, I hope my work invites you to pause and notice the beauty in places, celebrations and everyday moments.

Thank you for visiting my portfolio
